Good Prospects for Taiwan’s Trade Negotiations and possible FTA with US and Australia 台灣與美澳貿易會談有積極進展

Taiwan and US has resumed talks of Trade and Investment Framework Agreement(TIFA) by video conference between authorized trade representatives on both sides a on 30th June, 2021.

According to USTR’s press release, both sides emphasized Taiwan’s role as a partner with the United States in reforming the multilateral trading system and expressed support for joint work to enhance critical supply chain security and resilience.

It is said that 42 US senators has urged the Biden Administration to advance for negotiation on Free Trade Agreement with Taiwan.

台灣與美國在重新開始「貿易投資框架協定」(TIFA),今年6月30日雙邊貿易代表透過視訊會議方式進行討論。

依照美國貿易代表的新聞稿,台美雙邊都強調,美國重塑多邊貿易系統的過程中,台灣作為夥伴角色,且對於共同合作來強化關鍵供應鏈的安全與穩固,表達支持的立場。

The second day after the resumption of Taiwan-US trade talks, Taiwan started the talks with Australia’s Trade Minister Dan Tehan.

The discussed topics include possibility of future exports of Australian hydrogen energy to Taiwan. Both sides are optimistic for the prospects of future bilateral free trade negotiations.

在結束台美貿易會談的隔日,台灣又與澳洲經貿部長特漢進行視訊會談。

台灣與澳洲經貿會談的議題包括將加深在能源進口上的合作,台澳雙方對於未來自由貿易協定的進展,抱持樂觀的態度。
